Assistant Manager, Retail Design Project Management

We are looking for a full-time, detail-oriented, and proactive Assistant Manager, Retail Design Project Management to be based in Singapore. Joining the Coty TR APAC Retail Design & Visual Merchandising team, this person will lead and oversee end-to-end project management for new store openings, renovations, temporary stores, pop-up installations, and promotional animations, ensuring alignment with global brand guidelines while meeting local market needs across travel retail channels.

THE ROLE

OPTIMIZE, ENABLE, INNOVATE!

As our Assistant Manager, Retail Design Project Management, you play a critical role in driving efficient project execution in line with the regional business development strategy, handling budgeting, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality retail design solutions that drive impactful customer experiences and optimize retail performance.

You will be reporting to Senior Retail Design Manager, TR APAC and you will manage:

Retailer Design, Project Management & Territory Ownership:

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end project management for new store openings, renovations, shop-in-shop installations, temporary stores, and promotional animations within the assigned territory, ensuring alignment with global brand guidelines while meeting local market needs.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project management, including timelines, budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with global design teams to ensure all retail spaces align with Coty’s visual identity and brand standards, while adapting designs to suit local implementation and market requirements.
  • Manage construction and installation processes, working with contractors, architects, and external vendors to ensure high standards of execution.
  • Oversee the design and development of fixtures, furniture, and in-store materials, ensuring optimal functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with commercial, marketing, and retail operations teams to integrate store design projects with promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and business goals.
  • Act as a core point of contact between Coty’s internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., airport authorities, duty-free operators) to ensure smooth project execution across the assigned region.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on comprehensive project planning, execution, and follow-ups under the alignment of regional team leadership.

Budget, Processes & Administrative Support:

  • Develop and manage CAPEX budgets and promotional project allocations, ensuring efficient use of resources without compromising quality or brand standards.
  • Negotiate with external vendors, agencies, and contractors to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Handle purchase order issuance and follow-ups, complete installation reports, and manage related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update POS databases for the assigned region, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Monitor project expenditures, track project management KPIs (timeline adherence, budget tracking, quality checks), and prepare regular status forecasts and progress reports for senior leadership.

Store Performance & Supplier Optimization

  • Regularly assess the performance and impact of store designs in relation to sales performance, customer flow, traffic flow, and space utilization to enhance customer experience.
  • Support supplier coordination by sharing clear brand guidelines and project requirements, evaluating suppliers' capabilities, and sourcing suitable vendors to deliver quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in field visits to key markets to support quality checks on retail counters, material execution, and store maintenance.

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

You like to make a difference. As an Assistant Manager, Retail Design Project Management, you will share your valuable experience with the team, and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you should also have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, Retail Design, or a related field.
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in retail design, project management, or store development, preferably within the beauty or luxury sectors in a travel retail environment. Experience in the perfume & cosmetics industry will be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Good project management skills with the ability to lead and support multiple projects across different brands simultaneously.
  • Understanding of retail store design principles and exposure to retail project execution processes (e.g., furniture production, site installation, maintenance, and handover).
  • Proficiency in project management tools and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent budget management skills, with experience in vendor negotiations and resource allocation.
  • Strong communications and stakeholder management skills with both internal and external parties.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines, maintaining strong attention to details.
  • Willingness to travel.

If you’re ready to support and shape the future of beauty, we want you on our team!
