Transport and Customs Assistant Manager
The Global Transport & Customs team provides the centre of expertise for the global Transport network. It sets the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and provides functional expertise in network design across the global supply community and with the logistics community in the regions.
It has the responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of Cost, Performance, Quality, Service, Compliance and sustainability in relation to Transportation, Customs and Trade Compliance.
Furthermore, the Global Transport & Customs team is controlling the global freight budget and provides governance over the Control Tower Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As our Transport and Customs Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring proper execution of transport and customs operations in your area of responsibility.
In this position you are responsible to manage end-to-end shipments from and to China as well as oversee, incidents, reporting and KPIs in the country.
Your main focus :
Type of operations to be managed:
- Manage end-to-end import and export operations (air and ocean), including booking, sailing, customs clearance, pickup, trucking, and final delivery, to ensure on-time delivery and fulfillment of business requirements.
- Oversee inbound shipments from the US/EU and intra-APAC rebalancing flows, as well as outbound shipments to other regions, ensuring smooth coordination between origin, ports/airports, and final destinations.
- Manage and coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, brokers, and couriers to ensure shipment accuracy, operational integrity, sufficient capacity, and adherence to agreed lead times; regularly review and report on service provider performance.
- Provide shipment visibility, performance reporting, and root-cause analysis for service failures, driving corrective actions.
- Control transport costs and support budget adherence through utilization and cost analysis.
- Handle complex or urgent operational exceptions, including customs inquiries and critical customer delivery requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DCs, control tower, procurement, planning, and other stakeholders to support operational and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key operational and functional responsibilities:
- Provide maximum visibility to the stakeholders and management team
- Autonomously Supervise a set of KPI in your areas, with responsibility to run analysis and short-term action plan when out of target, escalating wherever is necessary.
- Support cost analysis to ensure we respect our transport budget, including transport analysis of utilization rate.
- Ensure agreed lead times are met.
- Ensure our logistic service providers have capacity enough to support our volume and eventually develop contingency plans.
You are also expected to occasionally support management team in making continuous improvement project in your area, including supply network design, efficiency improvement, carrier selection and qualifications, work processes and KPI improvements.
You are expected to collaborate with different functions: DCs, local marketing team, procurement, planning and mainly with existing control tower that is performing day by day operations.
You are expected to attend and contribute to standard meeting internally and with carriers and adhere, propose and execute improvement proposal to existing work processes
YOU ARE A COTY FIT
You like to some relative skills. As a/an experienced (job title), you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:
- Required educational background: B.Sc. degree in Logistics - advanced degree an advantage.
- 2-4 Years of relevant working experience in freight (preferable in Multinational company – preferable in Global forwarding company or transport in FMCG).
- Strong analytical and fact-based problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Good skills in EXCEL / Power BI – VBA creation capabilities will be an advantage.
- Fluent in English, another language is a plus.
- Strong team player - able to effectively and proactively act in a complex matrix organization.
- Customs requirements -familiar with custom regulations of either one of the APAC countries, ie Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Korea, Thailand, China, etc.
- Familiar with HTS classification rules and practice
