The Logistics team operates across the entire Coty business and provides exceptional service to our customer through our logistics network. The team operates on daily bases to deliver a competitive advantage to our partners by setting the strategy and frameworks, as well continues improvement of our operations. 

THE ROLE

Coty is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Logistics team. In this role the person will lead directly a set of distribution centers across North Asia (China, Japan, South Korea and Hong-Kong) for bricks & mortar and ecom operations. This is a very operational focused role to manage the business to meet all relevant supply chain KPIs. The role will report directly to the Senior Logistics Director APAC

The position covers a broad range of business activities at both a functional, operational and strategic level.
To work closely with the logistics team leaders to operate the day to day business with excellence. 

Set the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and to provide expertise in logistics and ecom operations. Responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of financial, service, safety and sustainability.
To provide operational direction to the operational teams in all matters relating to warehousing and transport services. Supporting the operational line management in the selection, contractual management and performance of externalized services including 3PL’s and other appropriately identified activities.
The individual who fills this role will be expected to contribute to the logistics leadership and develop relationships with the teams on all aspects of the business activities. Key relationships in addition will be with the divisional supply chain leads and the planning community, the Center of experience (CoE), as well as the finance, procurement, manufacturing and IT teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional
•    Work closely with the CoE and regional teams to define the future structure and operations of DC network.
•    Lead the network of DC operations across North Asia, design and implement strategies, projects and standards across the DC / warehouse community
•    To provide functional lead to the DC function and ensure consistency in operational best practices across the global network

Operational
•    Operational accountability together with the DC operation on all key metrics such as service, quality, safety, productivity, inventory control, accuracy and sustainability.
•    Be a close partner to the regional and market supply and commercial leads and ecom/DTC teams
•    Maintain high levels of service and manage customer’s expectations whilst operating within budgetary conditions
•    Challenge existing practices to drive both service and cost efficiencies within the supply network
•    Manage and animate the relationship with the 3PL’s in partnership with the logistics procurement team

People Development
•    Develop a network of talents across the various locations
•    Create and maintain development and succession plans for the logistics community
•    Leadership


Strategic Projects
•    Identify opportunities for improvements in supply spending that creates value in terms of financial, service, safety and sustainability to Coty
•    Give direction and management of projects across the function
•    Monitor, track and report on the status of projects including the tracking of the committed results i.e. savings, service improvements etc

Supplier Performance Management
•    Lead performance management visibility and improvement plans for suppliers ensuring conformance with best practice and company standards consistently across all sites
•    Be a point of escalation for supplier performance issues in collaboration with procurement

Supplier Selection
•    Co Lead with logistics procurement formal tendering processes within DC / warehousing and other externalized logistics services within the region
•    Identify appropriate contractors & suppliers for the inclusion in selection processes in partnership with logistics procurement
•    Liaise with partner agencies and logistics procurement teams in the selection of contractors

Communications
•    Ensure the site management committees and the wider supply and operations teams are included in key decisions and development in projects, industry updates, supplier updates and best practices

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Essential:
•    10 years of proven operational leadership in logistics and supply chain
•    Successful Experience of a FMCG environment with commercial understanding of Distribution Center, transport and customs operations
•    Strong experience within ecom and direct to consumer operations including experience of the major marketplace platforms in North Asia
•    Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to deal with senior leadership to convince and influence effectively, overcoming barriers.
•    Contract negotiation skills and ability to lead complex negotiations & manage contracts through their life-cycle measuring & driving demanding service levels
•    Achievement of innovative results and proven track record of significant cost savings
•    Experience of implementing new systems (e.g. Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, Warehouse Control Systems), processes (control tower) in a transversal environment
•    Experience of implementing automation and mechanization programs in a DC or industrial environment
•    Self-motivated leader and team player
•    Proficient basic knowledge of contract law and best practice
•    Proficient financial analysis skills
•    IT literate with advanced excel skills.
•    Ability to coach and develop individuals in difficult situations and develop competencies
•    Work in different cultural environment
•    Extensive amount of travel is needed to connect with teams and service providers
