Logistics Coordinator – Distribution Center
COTY is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for its Sanford, NC location. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring (but not limited to) team safety, product quality, internal and/or external customer service expectations, inventory accuracy, and cost metrics.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Partners with other Coordinators, Supervisors, and Managers to ensure daily plans and metrics are achieved. This includes (but not limited to) work flow planning, staffing assignments, process improvements, and coaching for performance.
- Must work with respect to the safety rules and procedures defined by Coty.
- Maintain excellent safety performance.
- Perform BOSS audits as required.
- Perform required 5S duties.
- May act as the back-up for assigned supervisor in the supervisor’s absence.
- Achieve operational flexibility by cross-training in other functional areas.
- Ensures tools and equipment used by assigned team are functional.
- Assists on production line as needed.
- Provides general feedback and coaching on performance directly to assigned team.
- Assists Supervisor in performance management process by providing feedback on individual performance and communicating all performance issues to the Supervisor for resolution.
- Identifies barriers to performance and discuss/offer solutions to supervisor.
- Actively participates with supervisor in development of “continual training” plan for associates.
- Coaches team members in performance of duties and provide performance feedback on a regular basis.
- Develops, understand and updates work instructions and SOP.
- Provides training to the team on work instructions and SOP as required.
- Assist Supervisor with incident investigations as required.
- Attends all meetings/training as required.
- Assists and/or conducts periodical meetings in order to share the department goals and objectives.
- Lead daily Department DDS meetings.
- Perform gap analysis on KPI’s using 5Y and 4 Quad methods.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS |
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Application Pre-Requisites:
- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- AA degree or higher, preferred.
- Working knowledge of logistics operations generally obtained from 4 years of operations experience, or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions and procedures, and effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats.
Special Skills Required:
Knowledge:
- Requires exposure at a user level to a WMS systems.
- Requires exposure at a user level to a centralized document storage system – prefer ETQ.
- Full functional understanding of continuous improvement principles – prefer lean and/or Six Sigma experience.
- Full functional understanding of 5S.
- Recommend the following: working knowledge of OSHA guidelines and recommendations in an industrial setting. Participation in safety audits and/or teams desired.
- Functional working knowledge and application of Microsoft products.
Functional/Technical/Physical Skills:
- Critical thinking ability required to assess data and performance trends for opportunities and/or improvement.
- Ability to communicate clearly and train employees on processes and procedures.
- Ability to use active listening and probing to discover issues that require supervisor attention.
- Ability to observe performance and provide coaching on areas needing improvement.
- Ability to motivate, foster teamwork and provide positive reinforcement.
- Ability to communicate/comprehend both orally and written in English.
- Must be capable of performing basic mathematical operations.
- Must be capable of performing basic statistical data analysis.
- Must be able to clearly think, communicate, and react in high-pressure situations, required.
- Comfortable functioning as a part of, and leading, engaged work teams.
- Must be comfortable soliciting and acting on feedback from the floor.
Functional/Technical/Physical Skills:
- Critical thinking ability required to assess operational activities and performance trends for opportunities and/or improvement.
- Proven capability to perform basic mathematical operations.
- Must be able to comprehend verbal and written communication in English.
- Must be able to clearly think, communicate, and work well in pressure situations.
- Must be able to successfully multi-task with challenging assignments.
- Must be able to solicit and act on feedback from the operations team.
- Must be physically able to climb stairs and/or crosswalks on the operations floor.
- May be required to work at heights.
This is a full-time position.
This position requires the ability to work mandatory overtime to meet business needs either within the day and/or the weekend and business operates on multiple shifts. May be required to work on holidays.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Work environment could include exposure to varying air temperatures seasonally impacted.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Medium: Requires exertion of 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 11 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires about 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Sitting may be required only intermittently and occasionally. Stooping is usually required frequently.
Duration & Repetitive Standards
Constant activity or condition exists up more than 2/3 of the time equivalent to more than 5.25 hours per work day or more than 40 minutes each hour.
