Merchandising Manager

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within the Global Retail Experience team, the Permanent Merchandising Manager will lead the development of Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Gucci Beauty store design concepts, defining guidelines and fixtures catalogue, and supporting worldwide VM teams to design, develop and install permanent spaces. Working hand in hand with the Operating Office and 360 teams, as well as with Fashion Houses, he/she will be responsible for defining a strong consumer experience based on the Brand strategy.

He/she will report to the Retail Experience Director and will lead a team of Project Managers.

KEY MISSIONS:

With creativity and pragmatism:

  • Work with Trade Marketing & Operating Office teams to deliver an ambitious roll-out plan and ensure each project meets the commercial requirements of each market
  • Work with 360 teams to keep in-store concepts up to date, ensuring alignment with Brand strategy (including in-store initiatives such as art of wrapping, customization services, MUP services, …)
  • Work with highly demanding Fashion Houses and designers to translate the Brand vision into in-store concepts, defining the consumer journey and fixtures catalogue while balancing local commercial needs and FH requirements
  • Lead collaboration with design agencies and suppliers from creative brief to prototyping and production
  • Support local markets in the design of new beauty boutiques/counters/fixtures, ensuring compliance with guidelines and FH high-quality standards: from design, to technical drawing validation, to supplier visits and installations
  • Continuously update and maintain detailed permanent and semi-permanent merchandising guidelines in collaboration with external agencies and suppliers
  • Ensure continuous optimization of tools, processes and communication
  • Lead a team of Project Managers, balancing workload and responsibilities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in luxury beauty with a global scope
  • University degree / Business School / Creative background
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with creative software (Photoshop, SketchUp preferred) is a plus

  • Strong team management skills with the ability to prioritize, balance workload and keep the team motivated
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with Fashion Houses, colleagues and suppliers
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Good understanding of retailers, shoppers, competitors and customers to contribute to the evolution and adaptation of brand guidelines
  • Business-oriented, creative thinker, proactive, detail-oriented and pragmatic, with a strong retail mindset (able to balance aesthetic excellence with commercial needs) and a cost-conscious approach
