Global Retail Store Planning Director

One of the biggest successes of these past years, Coty is reinventing itself by strongly developing Retail, Skincare, Niche fragrances and is looking for its new Global Retail Store Planing Director, within a newly created Global Retail pole. This role is crucial in enhancing our brand presence across all retail touchpoints and creating an immersive and compelling shopping experience for our customers.

 

Collaborating closely with the Global Retail Experience & VM Department and with Regional Markets’ teams (VM, Operations, Retail), the ideal candidate will possess an understanding of design and architecture, a deep understanding of retail environments, and a strategic mindset to ensure operational excellence. The Global Retail Store Planning Director will be responsible for the operational coordination of the works planning relating to the construction and/or renovation of the boutiques worldwide, and for ensuring the operational excellence of the stores network long term.

 

The role will report into the VP Global Retail, Skincare & Niche Brands.

 

THE ROLE:

 

  • Plan and supervise new boutiques opening, extension or renovation of exiting boutiques, identify and animate the right transversal taskforce at Global and Local levels (internal and/or external partners) in charge of executing the project in accordance with the timeline and budget allocated.
  • Store design rollout in worldwide affiliates, overseeing all project phases: studies, plans, negotiations and installations, in collaboration with the regional markets’ teams.
  • Contribute to the projects bidding and tendering processes, costs optimizations and value engineering. Proactive actions for cost reduction, negotiation of framework agreements, selection of new suppliers and improvement of new strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with the budget and PNL optimization.
  • Offer strong technical support to the Maintenance team to ensure the proper conduct of maintenance plans.
  • Develop clear guidance for the development, construction and maintenance processes, for all points of sale worldwide to strengthen the level of excellence of the local teams.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to support the execution of visual merchandising initiatives in strategic markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture & VM, marketing, product development, and sales, to ensure cohesive and impactful visual merchandising plans.
  • Ensure the feasibility from the creation to execution of seasonal visual merchandising guidelines and directives for all retail channels, and guarantee the operational excellence.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and retail innovations to continuously elevate Coty's visual merchandising standards.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of visual merchandising strategies.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field - architecture and design.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, store planning with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the retail or luxury industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful visual merchandising strategies for a global brand.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a creative team.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and strategies to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in visual merchandising software and tools.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to oversee visual merchandising initiatives and conduct store visits.
