Senior Analyst, Technical Accounting

SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Technical Accounting team. Reporting to a Senior Director, you will get to work across many different technical accounting matters, global accounting policy, external reporting, special projects, and implementation of new US GAAP guidance.  

 

THE ROLE

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Specializing in specific accounting areas and related footnotes in Forms 10-Q and Forms 10-K. Initial areas may include share-based compensation, corporate bonus accrual, and earnings per share.
  • Assisting with accounting research on ad hoc technical accounting projects.
  • Assisting with documentation for external audit and review procedures. 
  • Working closely with key stakeholders in the development, revision, and maintenance of the company's financial policies & procedures.
  • Providing U.S. GAAP accounting guidance to subsidiary and corporate personnel and coordinating implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Performing Sarbanes-Oxley controls and certification processes quarterly.
  • Managing ad-hoc requests made by senior management in a timely manner.
  • Participating in special projects sponsored by senior management.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

 

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or similar field, CPA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
  • Ability to deal with diverse levels of financial and operating personnel in a multi-national organization and multiple 3rd party external organizations.
  • Ability to analyze financial performance and obtain valid explanations for variances.
  • Ability to work independently, under general direction, and develop creative solutions to problems
  • Deadline oriented and the ability to easily adopt to changes
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and Word. 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge on Workiva and Hyperion is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and teamwork ethics
  • Process focused to include ability to follow, document and explain key processes and impact to accounting and reporting.
