ASSISTANT MARKETING MANAGER, KYLIE COSMETICS
US LUXURY MARKETING – NEW YORK, NY
COTY is looking for smart leaders who are tenacious, passionate, and fearlessly kind.
The Assistant Brand Manager, Kylie is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business and marketing strategies to drive cosmetics & skincare growth for the brand in the US market. Along with the Brand Manager, he/she/they will collaborate closely on all 360 marketing activations for the brand at US retailers.
The candidate will contribute to business analysis, budgeting & forecasting, P&L management, promotional strategies, retailer activations, product launch plans, and competitive market analyses. The role relies heavily on cross-functional collaboration among various teams, so the ability to manage complex relationships quickly & effectively is very critical. The role will work closely with teams such as Global Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, Consumer Intelligence, Sales & Sell-In teams, and Education & Field teams.
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills and is attuned to consumer trends and the cosmetics & skincare markets. The ideal candidate needs to be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects at once, and passionate about the industry. Prior experience working for brands distributed at Ulta, Nordstrom and Macy’s will be beneficial.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Marketing Strategy
- Collaborate on 3-year brand strategy and execute marketing plans to ensure continued growth of portfolio/brand/franchise in the US market
- Support with merchandising plans, developing display opportunities, and helping to drive promotional plans with clear & succinct briefs to cross-functional teams
- Keep track of market performance of Kylie as well as market data overall through tools such as NPD and Nielsen AOD
- Collaborate on brand review decks for management
- Collaborate on 360 launch plans and ensure brand launches are new/better/different.
- Update launch calendar and launch reports on a weekly basis
- Update 360 Launch Trackers with dates & timings of key launches
P&L
- Support the Marketing Manager with proficient P&L management and ownership
- Responsible for PO management and follow up, as well as PO tracking and budgets
SKU Management
- Forecast management (saleable and non-saleable items): help enter forecast in system for initiatives based on benchmark, makeup and skincare trends and retailer feedback. Update forecast as needed.
- Keep SKU assortment lists by retailer or channel updated and communicate with cross-functional teams accordingly.
- Provide SKU logistics information to cross-functional teams as requested.
Merchandising (Online, Brick and Mortar)
- Work with local and global merchandising teams on strategy as well as instore and online execution.
- Ensure brand cohesiveness across all brick & mortar doors despite customization by channel as well as online.
- Ensure brand guidelines are respected in all instore merchandising executions (permanent and temporary) as well as online.
Brand Execution
Ensure perfect in-store and online execution of the brand.
- Collaborate with Education & Eventing teams on eventing strategy and support in store and digital execution for launches and ongoing brand support
- Create seasonal sell books and keep them up-to-date.
- Brief creative teams on asset & creative needs.
- Day-today administrative tasks to support the brands as needed.
Commercial Strategy
Plan trade activation with sales (sell-in, sell-thru teams) and channel strategy teams.
- Collaborate on retailer presentations as needed.
- Support retailer and business partner presentations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS |
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or a related field
- 3-5 years of related experience (marketing, traditional CPG); strongly prefer US Brand Management Beauty Marketing experience
- Must demonstrate ownership of programs, embracing both big picture objectives and follow-through on details
- Must be able to seamlessly work across multiple projects involving multiple stakeholders and must easily adapt to change and be proactive in identifying problems and finding solutions
- Must be a self-starter, professionally mature, accountable, flexible, resourceful, organized and highly detail-oriented with accurate work output
- Must possess the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the respect of members of the cross-functional and affiliate teams
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent Microsoft skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Desirable:
- Experience with Ulta, Nordstrom and Macy’s channels
- Experience with a founder-led brand
- Passion for the beauty industry

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
Salary is dependent on many factors.
