Our color cosmetics portfolio includes illustrious consumer brands such as CoverGirl, MaxFactor, Rimmel, Bourjois, Sally Hansen, prestige brands Burberry, Gucci, Kylie Cosmetics, SKKN as well as skincare brands Lancaster, Orveda and Philosophy.


We are currently looking for a Sr. Scientist Product Performance Evaluation to join our thriving global PPE team to support color cosmetic product research to help deliver superior and desirable consumer benefits. This position will play an important role in understanding product performance and communicating to R&D partners, CMI and other global teams about unique/superior/differentiated performance features of our products with potential to delight consumers.  




In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and execute product performance testing (technical sensory, consumer using qualitative or hybrid methods) to ensure that innovations or modified product formats deliver intended benefits
  • Lead research activities to help identify key benefit features with potential to delight consumers and set-up KPIs to validate product performance across the color categories (Face, Lip & Eye)
  • Understand consumer product development and deploy various research tools to help bring concept to life
  • Develop project research brief and discuss with key stakeholders to get alignment on research questions, objectives, key deliverables, and budget approvals
  • Manage connections with external research agencies and keep updated on their new test method offerings
  • Design, plan (including questionnaire/discussion guide development) and execute product research activities from end-end
  • Analyze/synthesize data from quantitative and qualitative research and communicate findings effectively with actionable recommendations and next steps to Project Managers/Directors/VPs as per agreed timelines
  • Develop action standards for key performance attributes by combining various data sources (physical, sensory, consumer performance and other relevant data) to help aid in business decisions 
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams (Product Development, Discovery & Innovation, Claims, CMI & Marketing) and co-create benefit demos and help develop benefit communication strategy
  • Innovative and creative thinker who can work independently.





We’d love to see candidates who have:



  • B.S. in Marketing/Psychology/Food Science or related disciplines or M.S. degree in Sensory/Market Research/Psychology/UX Design
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CPG Industry (Beauty and/or Personal care) or other industry with a focus on consumer insights, sensory, product performance and investigation roles. 
  • Ability to collaborate and evolve in a fast-paced matrix environment
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to manage projects, resource allocation and drive innovation initiatives
  • Proficient in analysing data from various sources (sensory, consumer & hybrid methods) using statistical analysis programmes such as XLSTAT, JMP, and Tableau etc.,    
  • Flexibility, resilience, team spirit, strong ownership, high accountability, solution-driven
  • Strong written, communication & organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an innate curiosity
  • Good knowledge of various consumer sensory and other relevant research tools 


  • Highly creative profile with passion to bring new and innovative research tools to understand beauty concepts, consumer needs, assess technology performance, advocate product design criteria, and qualify new product propositions
  • Experience in working with beauty categories/personal care products
  • Experience in conducting research in qualitative setting such as Focus Groups, IDI’s and Online communities
  • Communicate benefit priorities from product research for claims consideration and co-create compelling benefit demos to showcase product strength
