R&D Fragrance Design – Morris Plains, NJ

We’re currently looking for an Intern in support of the R&D organization. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and work in a fast-paced environment where you will support a dynamic R&D organization. 

The Intern will report to the manager fragrance design luxury, consumer beauty and mass fine fragrance and be based out of our Morris Plains, NJ location.  The program will run from May 22nd, 2023 – August 18th, 2023, with a requirement to work up to 40/hours week.

Reporting to a manager, you will be joining the Fragrance Design & Evaluation Team, working on several projects to serve Coty’s Industry Leading Luxury & Mass Brands.  During your 13-week internship, your focus will be to establish the fragrance stability odor panel and contribute to the training deployment as well as support the team for general evaluation work, market product reviews, stability assessments, base business reformulation reviews and QC investigations. The opportunity for fragrance training and calibration will also be available.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Organizing stability odor panel deployment including sample and form preparation and panel recruitment
• Supporting odor evaluations for base business, stability, and QC investigations
• Helping to prepare and organize samples and olfactive training sets
• Creative input on fragrance development for Lifestyle Scenting & Beauty Care Categories
• General fragrance lab maintenance
• Connects with the Global Center of Excellence for Fragrance
• Ensure weekly reporting during connects with your manager

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

• Degree (in progress or completed) with the ambition to work in cosmetic science/fragrance science concentrating on fragrance design and evaluations
• Passion to learn, work and build capabilities in a research and development organization
• Comfortable in a lab environment, experience in preparing simple formulations
• Desire to work in an international environment
• Curious, open-minded and a team-player
• Passion for Fine Fragrance & Beauty Care categories
