Research & Development (R&D) Organization – Paid Summer Internship

Area of Specialty: Scientist, Color Cosmetics – Face

Location: Morris Plains, NJ

We’re currently looking for an Intern in support of the R&D organization. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and work in a fast-paced environment where you will support a dynamic R&D organization. 

The Intern will report to the Manager of CB Face Product Development and be based out of our Morris Plains, NJ location. The program will run from May 22nd, 2023 – August 18th 2023, and will be required to work up to 40/hours week in the lab/on-site.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Lead your own, individual strategic project related to the color cosmetics face category.
• Formulate new makeup products, including testing and screening formula performance. 
• Build understanding of competitive landscape, and consumer need gaps to develop winning makeup products.
• Monitor and ensure the quality of new products in terms of stability, compatibility, microbiology, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Build correlation between instrumental testing and real-life product performance.
• Communicate key research findings/ technical information to wide range of audiences.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP.

We’d love to see candidates who have:

• Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
• Passion to learn and work in a research and development organization.
• Scientific mindset with the ability to follow safety guidelines associated with a laboratory setting.
• Experience with formulation and evaluation is desired.
• Strong collaboration skills: ability to work in a team environment.
• Highly organized & detailed oriented in observing/taking notes/following instruction.
• Ability to manage multiple activities while delivering set milestones.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Team player and exhibit “can do” attitude.
• Internally motivated with intellectual curiosity.
• Proven ability to work in fast paced, outcome driven environments.
