Research & Development (R&D) Organization - Paid Internship

Area of Specialty: R&D Scientist Clinical Evaluation

Location: Morris Plains, NJ

We’re currently looking for an Intern is support of the R&D organization. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and work in a fast-paced environment where you will support a dynamic R&D organization. 

The Intern will report to the Senior Scientist and be based out of our Morris Plains, NJ location.  The  program will run from May 22nd, 2023 – August 18th 2023, and be required to work up to 40/hours week.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• The intern will be a member of a technical group involved in the development, design and implementation of a measurement system used to evaluate color cosmetics products
• The candidate will focus on performing experiments to validate and provide feedback on the cosmetics formulation efficacy
• Assist in the design and implementation of testing procedures.
• Run experiments in a laboratory setting including human subjects and in-vitro setting.
• Analyze, interpret data and write technical reports
• Document test settings, results and conclusions.
• Support clinical studies including describing study protocols, participating the study, preparing the study setting, and documenting study results

We’d love to see candidates who have:

• Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, physics, or related science
• Passion to learn and work in a research and development organization.
• Scientific mindset with the ability to follow safety guidelines associated with a laboratory setting.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Great attention to detail and be highly organized.
• Experience using excel and other Microsoft office applications. Experience with image analysis software would be plus
• Strong collaboration skills: ability to work in a team environment.
• Detailed oriented in observing/taking notes/following instruction.
• Ability to manage multiple activities while delivering set milestones.
• Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills and exhibit “can do” attitude
• Internally motivated
• A natural aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
• A curious mind open to receiving knowledge and instruction
