We are looking for a manager to join the EYE Category and support the Consumer Beauty Division. You will lead the EYE R&D Product Development team to design and develop new products from insights to global distribution.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Team management including governance and implementation of resource allocation for projects.
- Efficient project management within Stage Gate process for new product development to deliver key milestones across multiple brands via delegation
- Solid understanding of claims articulation, amplification, and validation to help team in defining product design opportunities and technical solutions.
- Partnering with cross-functional internal and external partners in strategic planning, and designing eye products that deliver superior consumer performance for multiple brands
- Assisting director on maintaining budget for category, testing and other purchases.
- Assisting director in team development via one-on-one instructing, supporting, coaching, and mentoring.
- Leveraging consumer insights and analyze competitive landscaping to creatively translate consumer needs into technical parameters and approaches via brainstorming and the implementing of innovative solutions.
- Assisting the team via knowledge of technical parameters to deliver the consumer performance with a strong understanding of the chemistry and ingredient functions
- Working and negotiating effectively across R&D functions (process, analytical, packaging, sensory and claims testing, etc..) as well as multi-disciplinary teams (marketing, product & market research, legal, etc.) to enable and drive projects forward.
- Implementing and governing team compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP
- (Insert “Core/Key Responsibilities” here) E.g., “Team management: Implement clear team and department objectives, in an in-person and remote environment. Supervise, train and guide team members while providing constructive feedback to lead to the team career development.
- E.g., Literate in the state of the business; actual vs plan (gross shipments, retail sales and SOM targets).”
QUALIFICATIONS |
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- Minimum BS in chemistry or related science field. Master’s in business or a technical discipline preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant Industry experience in personal care or consumer goods (makeup, skin, hair) .
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of products. Proficiency or Expertise in data analytics software.
- Understanding of consumer product development and ability to bring concept to life
- Understanding of brainstorming and the implementing creative solutions.
- Ability to leverage research and data to influence and make connections
- Ability to collaborate and evolve in a fast-paced matrix environment
- Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities.
- Ability to translate consumer needs into technical deliverables
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate science and technology to a non-technical community
- Team leader exhibiting a “can do” attitude
- Internally motivated with a passion for beauty
