MISSION/ROLE SUMMARY:

Senior Scientist in the Process Development team, responsible for robust scale-up and qualification of new products in our Sun/Skin/Body category

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will be responsible for:

1. Execution of process scale-up strategies for our Sun/Skin/Body initiatives
   1. Act as main manufacturing resource for pilot scale manufacture of these projects
   2. Develop technical learning plans using appropriate internal R&D and Supply Chain resources.
   3. Manage all documentation and records associated with pilot scale manufacture, ensuring accurate recording of all work and appropriate filing and storage.
   4. Execute and document with excellence plant scale trials as appropriate.
2. Support our existing base business including process optimization and BCT improvement in collaboration with Factory resources
3. Creative problem solving to overcome technical issues in delivery and current business.
4. Troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing plant issues using appropriate internal R&D and Supply Chain resources.
5. Clear communication of process development challenges, issues, and successes with senior management
6. Coaching and development of junior temporary scientist

KEY DELIVERABLES / KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Initiatives launched on time meeting key CPS gates
• Reduction of number of projects under industrialization in factory

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE

• Science or Engineering Degree.
• 2+ years of experience leading manufacturing making/filling trials and transferring technical information from R&D to Production sites
• A high attention to detail and hands on approach to running experiments.
• Strong ownership and accountability
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate issues / risks to a diverse multifunctional audience
• Familiarity with ‘Transformation Understanding’, ‘Basis for Scale up’ and/or Process Qualification would be an advantage.
• Understanding and experience of the practical application of Stage-Gate Processes (from Design to Execution).
• Experience in operating Pilot Plant equipment with minimal supervision would be an advantage

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS or EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENT

Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific category minimum OR 5+ years experience in a pilot plant or manufacturing plant working on beauty care products
