The Finance Controller for North America Professional Beauty reports to the Director Financial Planning & Analysis, North America Beauty and will manage NA (US, Canada, Puerto Rico) Prof Beauty Accounting & Reporting processes, with a major focus on month-end closing activities and quarterly internal / external financial reporting. This will require close interaction with NA Accounting Shared Service Center (based in NYC and Sanford, NC) and local Calabasas-based Finance team.




  • Provide accounting support, guidance and act as liaise to business controlling finance teams.
  • Manage the preparation and analysis of key financial statement accounts, including a trial balance consolidation of 2-3 legal entities into one, as part of monthly / quarterly closing.
  • Manage the preparation and consolidation of Corporate deliverables (e.g. Quarterly Analytics, Reporting Pack, Tax Pack, Forecast, etc.).
  • Review account reconciliations and journal entries ensuring compliance to GAAP & Corporate and local policies.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly Short-Term Liquidity / Cash Forecasts for the entities in North America, and possibly lead the preparation of local statutory tax reports.
  • Develop and perform monthly trend analysis to help drive expectations in advance of the quarterly reporting periods.
  • Support in the development of local policies & procedures, evaluate internal controls and ensure SOX compliance.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing audit schedules, support and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of various analytical reports for presentation and distribution to senior management.
  • Participate in special projects as needed (business integration, system implementations, global harmonization and standardization, working capital improvement initiatives, SOX compliance, other process improvements)

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
  • 5-8 years of business experience with combination of public accounting and private industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office and SAP. Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is a plus.
