The Visual Merchandising Manager will play an integral role managing the implementation of the Visual Merchandising strategy and driving in-store excellence for the Prestige division in UK&I. An operational and creative mind, who can work autonomously within the Beauty field.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As our Visual Merchandising Manager, you are responsible for translating the VM & Store Design strategy into leading retail experiences that inspire, engage, and delight. Reporting to the Head of Visual Merchandising and Store Design you will lead projects from brief to final execution for brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Chloe, Hugo Boss and Marc Jacobs, amongst many other prestige brands.  

You are a professional experienced in managing VM & SD projects within the Beauty industry and you bring expertise of the UK&I retailer landscape. You will be adapting the global vision into locally relevant, commercially impactful executions. You will be an active contributor to an excellence-driven team, a professional that blends creativity with operational expertise. You will deliver outstanding launches, fixtures, and retail experiences on-time and within budget, always with sustainability and brand equity at the forefront.

The Visual Merchandising Manager role takes place in a multi-functional environment involving the management of multiple stakeholders.

 

Your main focus :

  • Responsible for design, project management and implementation of Visual Merchandising executions both Permanent and Temporary, within budget and agreed deadlines.
  • Responsible for implementation of NPD and stand updates considering all customer touch points to build customer centric concepts. This includes the development of conceptual designs, achievement of internal, Global and retailer’s approvals, owning briefs and managing external agencies, communicating to internal teams, final implementation, and reporting.
  • Responsible for integrating sustainability principles into all VM initiatives, from concept through production to end-of-life.
  • Responsible for new door openings, leading the organisation and operations to ensure all elements and teams are appointed for physical set out and launches.
  • Ownership of allocated OPEX and CAPEX budgets, being responsible of accurate forecasting reporting and control as well as performing administrative tasks for raising Purchase Orders, invoicing and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance and maintenance of brand standards across all stores, leading coaching and training for field teams, managing maintenance processes, and overseeing aftermarket agencies to uphold a permanent state of retail excellence.
  • Drive best-in-class in-store execution by developing UK&I VM planograms, monthly guidelines, and product launch packs; collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver visual and video updates, forecast global items, and conduct regular store visits to guarantee optimal VM standards and successful product launches.
  • Brief the in-house designer and external agencies in line with brand guidelines in a creative, effective, and professional way to minimise reworks and optimise timings.
  • Lead the collaboration and develop good relationship with external suppliers and agencies from creative brief to production. Regularly visiting suppliers to check and supervise production processes, quality of materials, prototyping and managing the organisation of product launches.
  • Develop strong relationships with retailers to ensure best in class executions. Acting as a brand ambassador and fostering collaborative relationships, building trust in Coty’s VM department to accelerate approval processes.

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

 

You like to blend your creative skills with your project management abilities and have extensive experience in the beauty field and are comfortable challenging the status quo with innovative ideas. As a Visual Merchandising Manager, you are an accomplished team player, passionate about Beauty and in-store design, with experience and appetite for owning all aspects of the VM action, supported by excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience in managing a diverse and complex matrix of stakeholder and achieving approvals in required times.
  • Office package literate: Excel, Power Point, Outlook. Strong Power Point skills to create outstanding presentations and ability to present to different stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign skills are desirable.
  • Experience with administrative tasks: raise POs, invoicing, forecasting, reporting. 
  • Able to read and understand CAD, Manufacture designs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 3D design, able to read, brief and support the creation of architectural renders.
  • Technical knowledge about materials and production techniques.
