Global Sustainability Communications Assistant

(WIMBLEDON, LONDON, COTY)

 

12 MONTHS INTERNSHIP (Fixed Term Contract),

 

BACKGROUND TO THE ROLE

 

Founded in Paris in 1904, Coty is one of the world’s largest beauty companies with a portfolio of iconic brands across fragrance, color cosmetics, and skin and body care. Coty serves consumers around the world, selling prestige and mass-market products in approximately 125 countries and territories.

 

This role sits within Coty‘s global Corporate Affairs team and is primarily focused on communications—with a specialization in sustainability and responsible marketing. As part of the team that shapes how Coty shows up to the world, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, brand reputation, and storytelling.

 

Sustainability is a core pillar of our global strategy. In this role, you will partner with our separate Sustainability Office team to support internal and external communications that bring our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) agenda to life—crafting compelling narratives that inspire action among employees, consumers, and stakeholders. You’ll also contribute to the evolution of our responsible marketing policy and gain exposure to our global brand portfolio as we strive to protect Coty and our brands‘ reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare copy and develop content related to sustainability and responsible marketing for a range of channels (e.g., internal, press releases, social media, videos, presentations).
  • Part of Coty’s Responsible Marketing team contributing to the evolution of our policy, developing toolkits, case studies and training materials.
  • Development and execution of Coty‘s annual sustainability and responsible marketing communications calendar, ensuring synchronization with wider Corporate Affairs calendar.
  • Support in preparing Coty’s annual sustainability report, including developing our launch plan and accompanying communications materials.
  • Help coordinate global campaign moments such as Earth Day and International Women’s Day.
  • Monitor external trends and best practices related to sustainability, responsible marketing, and cultural movements.
  • Research and prepare briefings on policy updates, potential partners, brand campaigns etc. relevant to sustainability and responsible marketing.
  • Brief and project manage external partners in delivering communications materials.
  • Offer day-to-day support across Corporate Affairs projects, with the opportunity to gain exposure to all areas of corporate communications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Coty’s Sustainability Office and brands, to gather updates and success stories related to sustainability and responsible marketing.
  • Ad hoc support across a range of internal initiatives where sustainability and responsible marketing expertise as required.

 

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

 

  • Business-minded, with a belief that corporates have a role to play in creating a more sustainable and inclusive world.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree - Sustainability, Business, English, Politics or History preferred but not essential.
  • Sustainability experience gained either through degree, work experience or extra-curricular.
  • Previous work experience within a business – multi-national preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in design and Canva tool a bonus.
  • Interest in and awareness of external trends / policy environment, and able to identify the business impact.
  • Solid understanding of (and passion for!) sustainability and responsible marketing and literate in the key concepts.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

 

  • Excellent writing and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English language, including writing.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, full of fresh ideas.
  • Attention to detail.
  • An eye for what looks good visually.
  • Good people skills.
  • Able to work independently and form relationships virtually, as well as in person.
  • A second language at a business level is a plus but not essential.
