SENIOR INDUSTRIAL CHEMIST

Your main focus:
- Acts as interface for the Hunt Valley Industrial Chemistry Organization between PS, R&D and Initiatives groups and if needed may consult with other factories
- Is responsible for learning and understanding new technology to support start up activities of the initiative team and to enable troubleshooting and optimization for the technology after start up (scale up, shade confirmation, etc.)
- Has responsibility for further development or improvement of CQV processes, Centerline and Statistical Process Control systems in Hunt Valley (for base business, initiatives and plant transfers)
- Networks with internal and external resources (i.e. Coty corporate or suppliers) to ensure good communication and make the best of benchmarking and re-application
- Works closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Raw Material Optimization Group and R&D partners on initiative, cost savings and processing development related matters
- Is responsible for IC lead improvement projects including raw material and process cost savings in Hunt Valley
- Responsibilities for executing with excellence any transfer of technologies between plants into Hunt Valley as needed
- Responsibility for an organizational area (i.e. Safety or Quality) for the group
- Responsibility for specification industrialization into the Hunt Valley plant
- Product and process technical resource AND Quality Assurance resource for the Hunt Valley plant, responsible for providing technical input, guidance and approval, as required (i.e. Making Instructions, Experimental Orders, Batch Production Records, Quality Investigations, Standard Operating Procedures, Rework Procedures, etc)
- Provide coaching and consultation with troubleshooting of legacy CoverGirl and Max Factor technology start-ups at other factories

QUALIFICATIONS |
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, industrial chemistry, or a related environment (CPG, cosmetics, pharma, or similar preferred)
- Hands-on experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting process/quality issues
- Experience with process improvement, optimization, and cost-saving initiatives
- Practical experience with analytical testing methods used in manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with techniques such as: Viscosity testing, pH measurement and adjustment, HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) or similar analytical instrumentation, Wet chemistry techniques (titration, stability testing, etc.)
- Ability to interpret analytical data to troubleshoot production issues, validate quality, and support process improvements
- Understanding of how analytical results impact product performance, stability, and specifications
- Familiarity with raw materials, formulations, and supplier qualification processes
- Experience working with technical documentation (SOPs, batch records, investigations, etc.)
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams
- Experience partnering with external suppliers or vendors
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
