THE ROLE

• Understanding and experience with modern cloud data architectures and engineering for one or more of the following cloud providers - AWS, Azure (preferred), GCP.
• Leading multiple engagements to design and develop data solutions using data modeling techniques. Design and develop data pipelines from differnet sources, Azure ML model execution architecture. Acts as a key contributor to the complete lifecycle (design, development, test & support) of analytic applications utilizing Microsoft Azure and BI technology platforms.
• Implementing cloud data solutions in the context of business applications, cost optimization, client’s strategic needs and future growth goals. Produce efficient and elegant code/solutions that meets business requirements; Proactively communicate progress, status, issues, and risks to stakeholders. Accurately estimate assignments. Create and maintain high quality detailed technical documentation.
• Responsible for overall data lake stack and development standards.
• Leading and working with large Cloud Data Platform, Cloud Data migration or Enterprise Information Management programs.
• Review and align on technical solutions in response to application enhancement requests.
• Lead and mentor data architecture team. Performs other related duties as directed.
• Willing to learn and apply modern, cloud based technology skills, ability to research emerging trends, analyst publications, and adoption of modern technologies in solution architectures.

Strategy & Planning:

• Deliver and support long-term strategic goals & vision for Data Lake stack in conjunction with data users, internal customers, and other stakeholders
• Based on data findings and trends, make recommendations for improvements, standardization, upgrades and determine ways to optimize the Data Lake platform.

Skills:

• Demonstrates thought-leader-level as a team leader, emphasizing the following areas:
• Leading multiple engagements to design and develop data solutions using expert data modeling techniques. Implementing cloud data solutions in the context of business applications, cost optimization, client’s strategic needs and future growth goals as it relates to becoming a ‘data driven’ organization.
• Broad experience in Microsoft SQL technologies including SSAS Tabular models, DAX, T-SQL, Service Broker, Replication, and Performance Tuning.
• Broad multi-tenant data architecture and implementation experience across different data stores (e. g., Azure Data Lake GEN2, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Blob Storage, HDFS), messaging systems (e. g., Azure Event Hubs, Apache Kafka), and data processing engines (e. g., Azure Data Lake Analytics, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Storm, Azure HDInsight).  
• Experience with data integration through APIs, Web Services, SOAP, and/or REST services. Experience using Azure DevOps and CI/CD as well as Agile tools and processes including Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
• Understanding of enterprise data concepts such as Master Data Management and Enterprise Data Warehouse, experience with MDM standards. Implementing cloud data architecture and data integration patterns (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, Databricks, etc.), storage and processing (Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Snowflake); Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform).  Understanding of SQL, report generation using visualization tools such as Tableau/Power BI, programming using Python/Spark. Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for consumption by machine learning and BI solutions. Knowledge of SOA and Micros Services Application Architecture.
• Additional programming experience is a plus including experience with .NET, Scala, R, Java.
