LOCATION : Chartres Plant

Chartres plant is THE Coty luxury fragrance site. Based at 1 hour from Paris, in the center of Cosmetic Valley, Chartres factory is a place of choice to develop, industrialize and produce luxury fragrances. Chartres plant produces every year 65 millions units and is engaged in a 3 years growth and renovation journey with an inspiring ambition: Making “Chartres Le Luxe par Excellence” an effective reality and our pride.

 

ROLE AND DEPARTMENT : Engineering Leader

Coty is seeking an exceptional individual to join the leadership team of its plant located in Chartres. The role is part of plant Leadership Team and is directly reporting to the Site General Manager.

 

As engineering leader, you will be responsible for:

- Industrializing all new initiatives sourced from Chartres factory

-            - Driving delivery of KPIs and supporting delivery of the site’s strategic plan to optimize performance, waste and financial profitability

-            - Leading and developing the facilities and project management teams whilst defining the engineering strategy for the site.

-            - Being a proactive member of the Global Engineering team working towards global standardization.

- Supervising activities relative to building and utilities and coordinate plant sustainability program

 

You are a hands-on professional eager to support the team in their daily challenges and also able to work strategically on plant masterplan and technical capabilities.

 

RESPONSABILITIES

Leading and Team Development

  • Creates development and succession plans for the team to ensure the right level of capability to achieve success both for the team and individuals within it
  • Leads by example, setting the right work ethic and behaviors for the team to measure against
  • Develop positive and demanding collaboration with Factory Operations, Global Engineering, Innovation & Packaging, H.S.E., Finance, Procurement, Quality, H.R.

 

Making an impact

  • Benchmarks and pro-actively provides industry leading improvement opportunities to enhance the factory performance
  • Supports Manufacturing, TPD & NPD by generating capital appropriations for cost reductions and new product launches
  • Negotiates service contracts providing SLA’s that support the factories requirements
  • Creates yearly site Capital Budget in support of business objectives
  • Manages the facilities, utilities and building service budgets
  • Develops and maintains the sites BCP
  • Ensures compliance with local enforcement agencies and EU Legislative directives
  • Ensures environmental and safety requirements are followed and improvements implemented

 

Deploying Continuous Improvement

  • Streamlines manufacturing and engineering processes
  • Leads the effort for new equipment to establish a project team, clearly establishing a CQV process approach until major success criteria are reached
  • Meets internal customers, drafts equipment specifications, layouts process improvements and coordinates project implementations
  • Leads all engineering areas in designing, preparing and continual improvement
  • Reduces plant operating cost by improving manufacturing routings & OEE, reducing TAL and optimizing overheads
  • Identifies nonvalue added operations and eliminates
  • Defines obsolescent strategy regarding intelligent devices

 

Global Standards

  • Leads and promotes high standards of Health and Safety, QA, Hygiene, Equipment’s reliability
  • Identifies non-compliance and takes effective, swift action to rectify, coaching employees as appropriate
  • Contributes to global engineering network and be an active member, internally and externally about development and deployment of industry 4.0 solutions when relevant
  • Contributes to company’s sustainability journey deployment

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

 

Key requirements:

  • Engineer degree
  • 10-15 years FMCG or packaging industry experience in engineering, production, operational excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, Project management methodology and capabilities, budget management
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with innovation & agility while role modeling on respect of process

 

Essential skills:

  • Good English level (written and spoken)
  • Experience with safety in project design and execution
  • Business acumen, ability to cooperate with technical and business interfaces
  • Leading a department: motivating people, growing people, hiring new people
  • Work with facts and data, rigor, problem solving
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (from leadership members to operators), ability to deal with negotiations (suppliers relationship)
  • Rigorous, capable to go deep in details without losing big picture

 

Desirable skills:

  •   Autocad, Solid Works mastery
  •   Industry 4.0 knowledge (3D printing, digitalization, AGV, …..)

It is a good and visible first step to integrate the plant lead team and also Coty Supply Chain.

The position is intended to open to evolution within the plant lead team or in Central roles in Engineering or Packaging or more generally in Coty supply chain.
