Job Purpose
The Logistics Intern supports South Africa and Africa Distribution Markets (ADM) teams by providing hands-on assistance in logistics coordination and administrative tasks. This role is part of our structured intern graduate programme, designed to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical, on-the-job application. You will gain valuable workplace experience by supporting commercial and operational teams, ensuring smooth shipping and distribution processes, and contributing to the efficiency of our Logistics and Supply chain activities across South Africa and ADM.
Job Requirements
Your main areas of responsibility will include the following:
- Assist with coordination, shipment tracking, and communication between distributors, internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update logistics databases and templates (SAP/Excel).
- Support product documentation, registrations, and catalogue updates.
- Prepare and coordinate reports for logistics and distribution activities.
- Organize and maintain shared folders and archives (Finance, Inventory, Quality, Audit).
- Assist with system administration tasks (SharePoint, P2P Portal, carrier portals).
- Collect and compile logistics data for analysis and reporting.
- Provide general administrative support (purchase orders, delivery notes, follow ups).
- Collaborate with team members and cross functional departments to resolve issues proactively.
- Complete the Graduate Intern Programme to the required standard.
Job Profile
Education:
- Degree or Diploma in business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.
Required experience:
- MS Excel
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft office with a minimum of intermediate Excel
- Strong numeracy skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Able to prioritise and self-manage deliverables
- Sound oral and written communication skills
- Good level of organization and detail-orientation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
- Good attitude toward teamwork as well as the ability to work independently
