Master Data Manager

Role Overview

The Global Cosmetics Planning Hub manages supply of 500M+ units of global brand cosmetics (Max Factor, Rimmel, Covergirl, Sally Hansen, Bourjois, Manhattan) to 45 global markets via a network of 27 DCs. 

 

Category Supply Managers are accountable to deliver the Global Supply KPI’s (Service, Cost, Cash) for Colour Cosmetics.  They report to Senior Planning Managers who each own a portion of Global Cosmetics Planning scope, which is broken into the following pillars:

•             Operational Planning of EXO including initiative planning, call off, deployment and capacity planning

•             Operational Planning of In-House Factories including initiative planning, production scheduling, material call off, deployment and capacity planning

•             Deployment planning across the network of global DCs and availability management in partnership with global markets

•             Strategic supplier management (capacity/performance/responsiveness)

•             Innovation, Projects and Master Data

 

This role profile covers the “Master Data” scope, shown in bold: 

•             The role is intended to drive performance, process improvement and team capability, with a focus on Global Material Master.

•             A group of Master Data analyst are line-managed by this position. 

•             The role focuses on Synchronisation of Material Master Data, Accuracy of all master data elements, their maintenance and SLA’s adherence.

•             Code Activation – Delivering results within SLA

•             AUOM: EAN & GTIN Creation – Delivering results within SLA

•             Dangerous goods – Ensure DG Readiness and accuracy. 

•             End to End – Assuring Master Data Readiness

•             Master Data Accuracy – Ensure creation and maintenance of MD elements on time and quality.

•             Projects – Contribution to Master data elements of any supply chain projects.

 

 

                                MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Planning Technical:

Support the Senior Planning Manager in leading the team in the following process areas across the full end to end Supply Network:

•             Data tickets – Manages the inbound workload of data tickets and ensuring targets are being met

•             Dangerous goods – accuracy and readiness

•             Code Creation -. ensure all codes are created in a timely manner and in line with SLA’s

•             Root Cause analysis  – on any out-of-target processes to provide data / action plans for resolution

•             Master Data Readiness .Ensuring that MD is ready on time in full.

•             PDCA – Adherence and readiness

 

Effective Communication:

•             Proactively communicates to identify and fix any gaps.

•             Ownership of reporting on data metrics in order to capture accuracy levels and highlight / fix any discrepancies

•             Knowledge gathering / sharing with local teams on unknown processes / fields

•             Collaborates with internal team and stakeholders (Marketing, IL, SIL, Supply Chain Pack, R&D, QA, Sales, GMM) in order to drive stronger results.

 

Develop the team:

•             The Category Supply Manager is accountable to oversee the skills matrix and training coordination for their Master Data Analyst, to drive the development of skills and competencies from new start to experienced Analyst.

•             With oversight from Senior Planning Manager:

o             Provide direct reports with a meaningful review of performance during the annual appraisal process, with continuous touch points throughout year

o             Set team goals and standards of performance in line with wider organisational vision and KPIs

o             Engage the team, retain and develop talent ongoing to ensure the right people are in the right roles

 

Continuous improvement

•             Lead the development and improvement of processes and tools using analytical and problem-solving skills

•             Set a culture of continuous improvement by challenging and encouraging team to develop their ideas/ways of working

•             Lead and educate the entire hub team in the subject of inventory and analytics.

•             Drive positive change by setting the right tone and approach with regular direction setting

 

Project management

•             Support the Senior Planning Manager in translating the Hub vision into both short- and long-range action plans for the Value Stream to ensure KPIs and deliverables are successfully executed.

•             Active involvement and leadership of Supply Chain projects such as Supply Network Design/Change; New suppliers, New Software Tools, New MD projects.

•             Engage partners throughout the supply chain and or MD global team to ensure aligned direction and collaborative working relationships
