Global Senior Sustainability Manager Climate & Environment

The Senior Global Environmental Expert will be part of the restructured transversal corporate sustainability team responsible for accelerating this transformation. This team will help drive Coty’s Beauty That Lasts agenda across its three pillars: Beauty of our Product, Planet, Product and People under the leadership of our CEO Sue Y. Nabi and Chief Scientific & Sustainability Officer Shimei Fan. THE ROLE

The Global Senior Sustainability Manager, Climate & Environment reports into the Head of Sustainability Office and is responsible for managing programs and reporting related to Coty`s environmental sustainability priorities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manages environmental dashboard and is responsible for compiling, quality review, and driving continuous improvement of Coty’s environmental data, reporting and related processes, working with our Supply, R&D and Responsible Sourcing teams.
  • Drive Coty’s Climate Risk Assessment in line with reporting requirements and embeds it within relevant business processes. .
  • Oversee the overall ESG data collection & audit/ verification process
  • Support Coty’s Net Zero journey, including calculation project, and commitment and roadmap development
  • Advises supply, procurement and R&D to track progress on the environmental Sustainability Roadmap and on product Life Cycle Assessment best practice and supports our brands in environmental initiatives
  • Develops environmental (including carbon and nature) capability within the organization
  • Increase Coty`s expertise with regards to carbon accounting practices, global environmental legislations and policies.
  • Acts as the Carbon expert in the data taskforce and supports setting up a more reliable data structure
  • Connects externally to understand new developments in Sustainability science, new technologies and global policies, while also benchmarking industry and competition
  • Provides training to functions and teams to both educate on Sustainability best practice and drive a culture of Sustainability.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental sustainability-related discipline  or equivalent qualification
  • 8+ years’ experience in preferably Beauty or CPG industry
  • Strong carbon/climate expertise, including Life Cycle Assessment, reduction initiatives, carbon accounting / measurement, risk, and TCFD.  
  • Knowledge about wider environmental topics (water, waste, biodiversity, deforestation) a benefit and/or eagerness to expand knowledge and scope
  • Experience of external environmental audits and verification processes and  understanding of global environmental legislations and policies.
  • Proficient in managing regular collection of environmental site data/analysis and reporting
  • Experience of implementing/using and improving ESG data collection platforms such as CR360 
  • Experience in complex, multi-national company
  • Strong communication skills to persuade others, articulate a point of view, and set direction
  • Capable of synthesizing data to drive business decisions
  • You strive in an environment of transformation and potentially bring experience in sustainability change management
