FP&A AND BRAND FINANCE MANAGER – EDM

AMSTERDAM

We are looking for an ambitious Finance Manager who wants to be accountable for a full P&L and develop skills at market level on the key processes of multinational company such as business partnering, forecasting, closing, etc.

As a Finance Manager you will be working with the finance team of EDM (Europe Distributors Market), Benelux and with many others cross-functionals teams: Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain. We are all based in our Headquarters office in Amsterdam-Zuid, the Netherlands.

In the Amsterdam HQ you will meet interlinked Finance teams. Global functions (internal audit, treasury, corporate, cash management…) and Regional functions (FP&A, Capex controller, accounting payables and receivables…). The teams define finance guidelines and animate all the markets to deliver our common company targets. Our role is to support the business teams in their decisions to create value added for our stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

A great opportunity to be part of a Business Unit that works directly with core business drivers and addresses key operational challenges. You will get responsibilities of animating and challenging marketing team in their day to day as well as managing key FP&A deliverables

We need you to support the Business Unit (BU) for the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial plan development, budgeting process, variances analysis, management information process flow and special projects.

Your main focus: 

Financial reporting and analysis:

• Preparation and analysis of reporting and analysis, with the privilege of covering the whole P&L of the business unit, from Gross Sales to Operating Income.
• Ensure timely, quality, complete and consistent in reporting, in particular for the Monthly Business Update.
• Partner with market finance team in interrogating results versus plan, forecasts, and latest outlook to ensure financial commitments are delivered.

Budgeting and forecasting:

• Run end to end planning drumbeats
• Prepare and provide meaningful financial management information and reports, including Monthly Outlook review, AOP/ Forecast review and Sign-Off
• Provide advanced modelling and analysis of data and reports as required by key stakeholders across the business. Maintain and update routine templates, look into areas for process improvement and streamline.

Finance Business partnering & Animation:

• Act as a true business partner, eager to work hand-in-hand with the marketing team and other cross-functional stakeholders to influence strategic decisions and drive business performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Amsterdam marketing hub to shape product portfolio strategies, investment decisions, and commercial initiatives.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to improve financial performance (e.g., investment choices, customer/product mix, distributor pricing).
• Proactively challenge and improve existing processes; advocate for efficiency and accuracy.
• Support SOX controls for full compliance with U.S. GAAP and assist with corporate reporting and audit.
• Lead or take part in cross-functional projects as needed.

Other than that, you have: 

• Bachelors or master’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role within a multinational environment; FP&A, Brand Analysis, Controlling, or Commercial Finance experience is a strong advantage
• Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills, and comfortable working with big data and various financial and reporting systems
• Analytical and inquisitive by nature – able to interpret data and spot trends in complex environments
• Reliable with high standards of ethics & accuracy & precision
• Great team player, proactive and hands-on
• Passionate, enthusiastic, team player
• Possesses cross-cultural awareness and high emotional intelligence.
• Persuasive, resilient and flexible, able to easily adapt to new challenges.
• Presentation skills – ability to present and communicate with confidence.
• Good balance of a professional attitude while having fun!
