PURPOSE
The Director, TPM Innovation plays a critical role in accelerating Consumer Beauty innovation through Coty's global Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) ecosystem. Reporting to the SVP NPD Innovation, this role is responsible for driving externally leveraged innovation, developing strategic supplier partnerships, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, consumer-centric products across the Consumer Beauty portfolio.
Working at the intersection of Marketing, R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain and external manufacturing partners, the Director will lead the execution of innovative product platforms from concept through commercialization, while continuously improving speed to market, operational excellence and innovation effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Innovation Strategy & Portfolio Delivery
- Lead Third-Party Manufacturing innovation initiatives across the Consumer Beauty portfolio.
- Drive the execution of the innovation roadmap in partnership with Marketing, Open Innovation, R&D and Brand teams.
- Ensure innovation projects support portfolio strategy, commercial priorities and long-term business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate development through external technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of Coty's innovation operating model.
End-to-End Innovation Execution
- Oversee TPM projects from concept evaluation through commercialization and market launch.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with quality, regulatory and performance requirements.
- Drive effective risk identification, mitigation plans and project governance throughout development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless execution across the innovation lifecycle.
- Monitor project performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
External Partnership Management
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key Third-Party Manufacturers and technology partners globally.
- Identify new external capabilities that strengthen Coty's innovation pipeline.
- Lead technical discussions and co-development programs with strategic suppliers.
- Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs and governance with external partners.
- Represent Coty during supplier meetings, innovation showcases and industry events.
Technical Leadership & Innovation Excellence
- Promote best practices in product development, innovation processes and technical collaboration.
- Ensure new technologies and product concepts meet Coty's standards for quality, performance, safety and cost.
- Support intellectual property protection in collaboration with Legal, Patents and R&D.
- Drive knowledge sharing across internal teams and external partners.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the key TPM Innovation partner for Marketing, Open Innovation, R&D, Procurement, Packaging, Supply Chain and Quality.
- Foster collaboration across functions to accelerate decision-making and remove development roadblocks.
- Mentor and develop TPM team members while promoting a culture of accountability, agility and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Engineering or another relevant scientific discipline. Master's degree or PhD preferred.
- 10+ years of experience within Beauty, Cosmetics or Personal Care Innovation.
- Strong experience managing Third-Party Manufacturers and external technical partnerships.
- Demonstrated success leading complex product development programs from concept to launch.
- Strong understanding of formulation development, manufacturing processes and innovation lifecycle management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
