ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Central Customs Team (CCT), as part of supply chain – logistics department provides customs and trade compliance expertise to the regional sites and transport network and drives governance across regions. It translates global compliance and optimization targets into regional framework and guidelines to support operational continuity. This includes standardization of global key tasks (classification, embargo control, automation), implementing periodic controls and coordinating global projects. Its primary goal is securing compliance and monitor governance while also contributing to supply chain optimizations. and the CCT works in close connection with a.o. functions such as, Tax, Finance, Procurement, Regional Logistics, Manufacturing, IT and Customer Service to seek alignment on best practices including data collection and analytics.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and digitally driven individual to join the Global Central Customs Team as Customs Digital Solutions Manager.
In this role, you will be the owner of digital customs systems and solutions, ensuring that IT configurations, data, and automation supporting customs processes are aligned with evolving business needs and regulatory requirements. You will lead system enhancements, act as key liaison between Customs, IT, and business stakeholders, and drive digital projects that strengthen compliance, efficiency, and scalability globally.
With your expertise in customs procedures (import, export, origin, classification) and hands-on knowledge of trade compliance IT systems (e.g., MIC, SAP, or other Global Trade Management tools), you will manage customs master data governance, and system enhancement projects.
You will play a key role in Coty’s digital customs transformation journey, supporting process automation, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence.
The role reports to the Sr Manager Global Trade Compliance & Optimization and involves close collaboration with IT, Transport Team, DCs, Tax, Finance, Procurement, and other functions.
DETAILED ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will:
- Own deployment, configuration, and continuous improvement of MIC modules for origin determination (OCS), customs declarations (CUST), denied party screening (DPS), and classification (CCS).
- Drive automation initiatives in SAP and MIC, including auto-classification, data governance, and error controls.
- Lead preferential origin management in MIC: define and review rules, align with stakeholders, and ensure correct process execution.
- Design and maintain BI and reporting solutions to optimize customs operations, strengthen audit readiness, control costs, and enable data-driven decision making.
- Explore and implement AI-driven solutions to improve customs automation.
- Serve as subject matter expert for UATs, system enhancements, and digital rollouts.
- Oversee IT system health and performance (design, deployment, and interfaces), including managing change requests, creating SOPs, and delivering user training.
- Conduct regular audits and system checks to ensure compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Provide expert support on day-to-day IT and system escalations related to customs processes.

Key Requirements
- Professional degree, preferably in Economics, IT, Law, Logistics or similar.
- 5+ years job experience related to customs preferably in multinational.
- Proven experience with trade compliance IT systems and modules
- Sound understanding of customs processes including determination of origin and classification.
- SAP knowledge and ability to navigate ERP integrations.
- Analytical and data management skills (Excel, reporting tools, dashboards).
- Experience leading UATs, system projects, or digital implementations.
- Structured, reliable and autonomous working style capable of setting the right priorities.
- Hands-on mentality.
- Solution-oriented behavior and proactively seeking improvement.
- Team player and able to build a good working network both internal and external.
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
