The Sales Finance Manager Benelux responsible for Trade Funds, Reporting & Digital Frontline Tools of the Wella Company Benelux business (Professional Beauty – hair & nail, Retail Hair) in the Benelux. The Sales Finance Manager leads the Sales Finance team of 2 analysts.

On the topics of Trade Funds, Reporting & Digital Frontline Tools, the Sales Finance Manager works in close cooperation with main stakeholder Sales and supports the Lead Team with accurate information / advice to drive growth and profitability. Partnering with the Marketing, Education and Supply Chain departments is required to guide equip them with a ROI mindset with business intelligence, analytical insights & reporting. The Sales Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in streamlining processes, systems and routines, to free up time for all stakeholders to focus on business building activities. The Sales Finance Manager actively influences the “where to play” strategy and advises on investment opportunities.


Main responsibilities

  • Lead and build the Sales Finance team, overseeing Trade Funds, Reporting & Digital Frontline Tools
  • Understand market goals & strategies as well as Wella’s financial policies to support the Frontline to achieve targets
  • Own the optimization of processes, systems & routines regarding Trade Funds, Reporting & Digital Frontline Tools
  • Own SOX compliance tasks in the context of Trade Funds and revenue recognition, ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Own Trade Terms & Trade Terms Deviation management
  • Own Trade Funds Accruals
  • Advise on how to optimize trade funds (promotions, trade terms, customer budget, customer bonus)
  • Lead the financial assessment of proposed promotions & customer trade funds negotiations for go/no-go decisions and cascading choices support
  • Oversee the creation, archiving & maintenance of commercial contracts
  • Oversee the system setup of Trade Terms
  • Own the tracking of sales targets & budgets
  • Own the suite of standard reports that serve 80% of the reporting needs of the organization
  • Own the capability plan to train the organization to be able to perform the 20% remaining reporting needs
  • Provide financial & strategic ad-hoc analysis, answering the rapidly changing needs of an FMCG environment
  • Oversee the availability & accuracy of the reporting suite
  • Own digital sales: testing, deploying & training of digital tools for the Frontline (Sales & Education)
  • Oversee digital sales troubleshooting: ensuring 100% availability & accuracy of the digital sales tools


Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven working experience as Business Analyst / Systems Engineer (3-7 years) in a multinational / private equity owned company
  • Previous experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and advanced reporting systems (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Previous experience with training (larger) groups on how to use digital tools & reporting
  • Previous experience with people management is a pre
  • Previous experience with Data Analytics programming languages (Python) is a pre
  • Excellent understanding and management of process control & optimization
  • Extensive use of MS Excel



Skills & Competencies

  • BS or Master degree in Analytics / Engineering / Finance / Business Administration
  • Strong understanding of data structures & data visualization
  • Highly analytical & inquisitive by nature and able to understand trends in complex data and interpret them
  • Experience with automation of reporting processes in a SAP / Power BI environment
  • Proactive, highly-driven and self-motivated working style
  • High attention to accuracy and precision; operational discipline; ability to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Ability to direct and supervise own organization and influence stakeholders
  • High level of mental agility with ability to manage complexity, connecting the dots and finding solutions
  • Change management attitude, ability to work in a changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of hierarchy with multifunctional partners and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in an international business context. Fluent in written & spoken Dutch & English. French is a pre.
