THE ROLE

Wella is seeking an individual to join the External Operations (EXO) Quality department, which is responsible for the product quality of Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs). The role is part of the global EXO Quality team and is closely working with the Supply Chain Team in America. The position covers various activities and projects to ensure that good quality products are manufactured by the Wella TPMs to satisfy our customers and consumers as well as regulatory requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business

  • Monitors the regulatory compliance and performance of the TPMs, conducts routine QA audits at TPMs and evaluates the observations
  • Manages regular product inspections and the release process in SAP
  • Reports, manages and investigates product non-conformances and complaints in collaboration with the TPM and relevant functions within Wella
  • Monitors CAPA plans and the effectiveness of the actions
  • SPOC for all quality related topics for R&D, Marketing, EXO and DCs
  • Leads projects in collaboration with the TPMs such as the implementation of new test methods or processes and support projects led by other departments
  • Prepares and analyze monthly KPIs, followed by continuous improvement plans 

 

Organization

  • Represent the TPMs within the Wella network
  • Represent Wella Quality towards the TPM

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in the Cosmetics industry
  • Educational background or degree in chemistry, process engineer, food technology or similar
  • Strong knowledge in cosmetic GMP (FDA regulations) and quality standards
  • Experience as quality auditor
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong communication skills (internally and externally), ability to act confidently and to overcome barriers with external parties  
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to use Office and SAP

 

Desirable

  • Experience in project management
  • Practical experience in the analytical or micro lab and with product/equipment validations, mainly on the setting of success criteria and cleaning & sanitization
  • Practical experience with management of non-conformances including systematic problem-solving tools
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes including Making, Filling and Packing processes
  • Mindset of continuous improvement
  • Customer and results oriented way of working
