THE ROLE

We are looking for our future Sr. Scientist Instrumental Testing, OPI Nail Salon in the R&D Department. In this role, you will lead method development projects and capability improvements, own instrumental methods to measure and analyze superior performance of OPI nail products. You will collaborate with project teams to deliver new benefits, insights, and data to support claims and maximize our initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with OPI R&D chemists to understand their testing and claims needs.
  • Design and execute bio-physical test methods to characterize product performance, inform formulation choices and be predicative of real-world in vivo performance.
  • Create reports pertaining to performance testing and distribute reports and other relevant information to partnering functions.
  • Maintain a robust system for records, reports, and SOP’s.
  • Effectively communicate and present results to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop compelling and repeatable demos to support product launch and Education.
  • Collaborate with global method colleagues to share knowledge on new methods and capabilities.
  • Build the R&D instrumental testing capability to support claim substantiation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field. Preferred areas of study include Physical or Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering or Bio-Engineering, Bioinformatics or related fields.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a lab
  • Analytical and numerical skills, ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with digital testing tools, reporting systems, and statistical software program (JMP, XL- STAT)
  • Ability to work independently and exhibit problem solving skills. The ability to think critically and proactively and offer innovative and creative solutions to improve methods.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal, communication (written/oral) and organizational skills
  • Deliver clear insights through analyzing multiple/complex data sets.
  • Ability to create PowerPoint presentations summarizing project learnings, status, and next steps
  • Knowledge and passion for nails and beauty industry
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
