Demand Planning can be defined as the art and science of planning customer demand to drive holistic execution of such demand by corporate supply chain and business management. Demand Planning starts with a solid statistical forecast and adds intelligence through consensus management of the demand information process.



The Demand Planning Leader is responsible for leading the team and forecasting process for all product sales/demand to support the NA Professional Beauty business.  The goal is to deliver an unbiased and accurate Brand forecast to enable business and supply planning.  The demand forecast is the foundation of the Sales & Operations Planning process and critical to drive business sufficiency vs targets, product availability for our Customers, and inventory planning for efficient Cash management.  The demand process includes analyzing past actuals, leveraging statistical models, and integrating initiative & business intelligence. 

The DPL must develop and lead the Demand Planning team for performance, values based culture, and personal growth/development.   


In this role you will be responsible for:

Essential Functions:

  1. Create and lead a high performing team to deliver business/team goals and results. 
  2. Develop highly collaborative partnerships with the Commercial and Supply planning teams.
  3. Drive reasonable, predictable, and accurate sales forecasts to enable Customer Service and Inventory objectives.
  4. Lead performance tracking and Root Cause Analysis to enable continuous improvement.
  5. Influence and optimize the use of statistical models with integrated market intelligence for Initiatives and Commercial activities.
  6. Maintain quality and consistency of Key Forecast Changes (KFCs) and Risks & Opportunities
  7. Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


  • Supply Chain or Engineering Degree
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate ability to create and lead high performing teams to deliver team goals and results.  Demonstrate ability to lead and influence peers and hierarchy.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively across different styles.  Develop strong partnerships.  Must be able to work well with people not physically collocated.
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly, transparently, concisely, and on a timely basis with leadership.  Comfortable with dealing with conflict and issue resolution

  • Proficient computer knowledge – MS Word, Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in Demand or Supply Planning or Project Management
  • Beauty industry experience a plus
