THE ROLE

We are looking for a Manager, Payroll & HRIS to join our fast-paced and evolving HR team. The Manager, Payroll & HRIS is responsible for performing and overseeing the HRIS & Payroll functions, including but not limited to the management of work flow & data integrity in Global HRIS system (SAP), overseeing the data exchange to the Local Payroll system (ULTI). In addition, this role will join our team as we are setting up and implementing local payroll on the heels of our divestiture. The Manager, Payroll & HRIS will support the transition and implementation process through information gathering, vendor set-up support, data validation, testing, and overall project management. The Manager, Payroll & HRIS will be a key role in developing and executing payroll strategy ongoing, including driving all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's HRIS & payroll processing objectives, including relationships with internal and external auditors and state and federal agencies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and direct the activities of payroll team by building a positive, inclusive work environment and encouraging employee’s strong performance and professional growth.
  • Manages payroll team members, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance reviews, and overseeing the personal development
  • Acts as the functional lead in all applications associated with payroll and tax processing
  • Managing overall successful bi-weekly payroll for nearly 700 employees in the United States and Puerto Rico to ensure that payroll transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Manage payroll projects as needed, meeting deadlines, and managing shifting priorities for the overall success of the initiative
  • Ensures records and processes comply with company and legal regulations.
  • Management of employee/customer service through the Payroll Hotline & Coty ESS inbox
  • Develop and distribute meaningful reporting that drives business insights and evolution
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Accounting and Finance teams for payroll-related concerns
  • Create and encourage strong partnership with internal and external partners, best-in-class employee support, and adherence to compliance.
  • Accurately respond to incoming calls, e-mails, mail and in-person requests in appropriate time, usually within 24 hours.
  • Comply with company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide back-up support to other payroll team members as needed
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 5+ years HRIS & Payroll experience required
  • Managerial or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance in United States and California
  • CPP or FPC preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Ultimate Software, Cognos BI, Kronos & Ceridian applications preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. Able to manage difficult situations with diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to navigate a variety of business and people circumstances with a strong sense of ethics and discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, even when working under capacity constraints
  • Able to work flexible hours as business requires – occasionally during nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to successfully apply multi-tasking, prioritization, and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions and shifting priorities
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish languages is a plus.
