THE ROLE

The Manager, Market Planning is responsible for the readiness and execution of new product launches and/or product changes. The Manager will as well develop overall planning processes and manage a set of brands to guarantee high service levels. The incumbent works within the Supply Chain organization to improve efficiencies, enhance profitability, and support business goals; in particular.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reassess exiting process, identify gaps and suggest improvements that will impact on more efficient planning
  • Ensure supply chain readiness (cost, cash, service), including managing local activities and partnering with Global Initiative Leaders on market project schedule
  • Own defining supply plan and coverage, ensure fill rate meets and/or exceeds target; perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • For initiative and base business, update volume base plan as needed when incremental supply assessments are issued and communicate status with NA commercial team; work with Site Leader to confirm production remains on track, escalate when needed.
  • Provide status updates to Market Planning Director and business unit on supply chain readiness and market intelligence;
  • Collaborate with Brand, Trade Marketing & IP to define and execute PIPO plan ( runout plan, discontinuation timing  ) avoiding service risks.
  • Work with NA Commercial teams on allocation strategy and manage plan with Trade Marketing/Customer Service
  • Support planning hub to root cause service level impacts ( business unit related )
  • Develop, build, and maintain reports, dashboard, and tools utilizing Excel, PPT, & MS Project
  • Support continuous improvement projects and initiatives for Hair Professional brands as it relates to service, cost & inventory; additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Essential:

  • Education: BA/ BS in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Experience: 3-5+ years experience in supply planning, demand planning, project management, and/or production management
  • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly, transparently, concisely, and on a timely basis with leadership. Comfortable with dealing with conflict and issue resolution
  • Ability to challenge and refine business process and/or data requirements
  • Technical Skills: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, SAP
  • Aptitude for problem solving; proven ability to create, implement and measure new processes
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively across different styles. Develop strong partnerships. Must be able to work well with people not physically collocated.
