THE ROLE

The Clairol Professional and Wella colorcharm brands are looking for a strong Brand Manager to support these North America brand jewels.  In this role you will be responsible for developing marketing and commercial programs that delight our shoppers & consumers (at home hair color consumers and stylists) and deliver our business objectives.  The core focus is on brand ownership and product development. 

 

To demonstrate success in this role you will need a great eye for beauty and trends, to be passionate about consumers, to be a clear communicator, collaborative, highly organized, efficient and able to manage multiple projects with attention to details as well as a proactive approach to get things done.  Understanding how the little details contribute to the bigger picture is key, particularly in terms of brand storytelling and content creation. 

 

In this full-time role, you will report to the Brand Director - Clairol Professional and Wella colorcharm. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand Development and Management
    • Contribute to overall brand vision and set long-term objectives and strategies for growth
    • Own brand strategic targets, equity and vis ID; deploy hard/soft points to local teams
    • Gather insights to identify brand opportunities and inform brand story-telling
    • Manage communications and relationship with agency partners
    • Define the consumer journey for our digital and offline ecosystem
    • Develop and deploy FFU initiative toolboxes including digital assets
  • Portfolio and Initiative Development
    • Develop and lead 3-5 year brand Innovation Master Plan (IMP):
    • Align IMP to brand purpose, insights, trends and market feedback and white space opportunities  
    • Lead upstream initiative GATE process
    • Own and optimize global brand structural financials: C1 and C2
    • Lead and engage upstream multi-functional team to deliver projects with excellence
    • Support a fun, collaborative, driven environment

Key Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree (Business, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred)
  • MBA or Master degree preferred
  • 3-5 Years of corporate marketing experience REQUIRED (Beauty or CPG industry preferred); at least 1 year as Brand Manager REQUIRED
  • Highly digitally savvy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Bias to action to deliver projects complete and on-time, with ability to motivate others to support
  • Strong ownership and accountability - able to roll-up your sleeves and make things happen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Positive, ‘can do’ energy
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint (an absolute must!), Word, Excel (also a must!) and related software skills
