The finance function delivers an effective finance support service to the business to strengthen decision-making by providing timely and accurate reporting and business information. The appropriate financial control framework facilitates improvements in control in the business, promotes the management of financial risk to the organization and meets increasingly onerous statutory and regulatory requirements. The EMEA SSC is part of the Wella Group Controlling function and will be the regional Centre of Excellence for accounting, reporting and external financial compliance activities.




We’re looking for a Record-to-Report (“RtR”) Senior Manager to manage the accounting and reporting team based in our newly created EMEA SSC. This role will provide leadership to create develop and run the RtR team and function (ca 25 people). This position is accountable for managing the RtR activities of all entities supported by the EMEA SSC, covering areas of general accounting, fixed assets, intercompany and treasury accounting, indirect tax reporting, month-end close and other Wella reporting and compliance activities.


The team you will be joining will play a key role in the overall success of the Wella Finance organization.



  • Own the Record to Report process activities and teamwork coordination
  • Manage a team of ~25 people, with focus on integration of new talents, engagement, communication and monitoring
  • Create an inspiring and motivated team environment with an open communication culture, set clear team goals and deadlines, oversee and manage day-to-day operation, monitor team performance and report on metrics. Conduct regular one to ones, performance review and evaluations.
  • Overall management of month end close process (including Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Indirect tax, General Ledger, Treasury and other balance sheet items)
  • Overall management of monthly, quarterly, and year-end Corporate reporting requirements
  • Perform daily tasks and interact with people at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Collaborate with internal team, resolve referred issues
  • Build strong communication and close working relationship with the key stakeholders at market site, corporate and external key stakeholders
  • Ensure existing policies are followed; be the owner of process maps and ensure SOPs (standard operating procedures) are kept updated
  • Implement KPIs to monitor efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service
  • Effectively manage knowledge within the team (e.g. RTR Cross Training program) and support employee development
  • Ensuring legal requirements respect and service quality
  • Supporting internal and external auditors to ensure highest quality of operations within the team
  • Drive continuous process improvement in coordination with the RTA GPO
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement initiatives leading to cost effectiveness and process simplification

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in a matrix organization (ideally BPO/SSC/GBS), with at least 3 years of supervisory experience in leading a team of 15+
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience 
  • Extensive knowledge about accounting and RTR procedures (minimum 4-6 years)
  • A Bachelor´s degree in Accounting or Finance. Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CPA or equivalent) is a plus
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken required
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented and results-driven;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and organize;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, stakeholder management at all levels
  • Ability to work across cultures with all levels of organization as well as with different functions;
  • MS Office (Excel advanced), SAP (advanced)



  • Previous experience in a SSC
  • Controller experience an asset
  • Knowledge of Hyperion HFM or similar tools;
  • Working knowledge of any of the following languages would be a plus: French, German, Spanish, Italian
