THE ROLE

We’re looking for a team manager to lead the Indirect Tax team based in our EMEA SSC. You would provide day to day management to the Intercompany team of ~5 people to provide the most complete, accurate, and timely processing of the Indirect Tax process including VAT Accounting/filing/declarations, Reconciliation with Authorities, Customs, and month-end reporting, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements. The team you will be joining plays an important role in the overall success of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the Record to Report – Indirect Tax process activities and teamwork coordination
  • Manage a team of ~5 people, with a focus on the integration of new talents, engagement, communication, and monitoring
  • Create an inspiring and motivating team environment with an open communication culture, set clear team goals and deadlines, oversee and manage the day-to-day operation, monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Management of the end to end Indirect Tax process (VAT Accounting/filing/declarations, Reconciliation with Authorities, Customs and month-end reporting)
  • Management of monthly, quarterly, and year-end Corporate reporting requirements
  • Perform daily tasks and interact with people at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Collaborate with the internal team, resolve referred issues
  • Build strong communication and close working relationship with the key stakeholders at the market site, corporate and external key stakeholders
  • Ensure existing policies are followed; be the owner of process maps and ensure SOPs (standard operating procedures) are kept updated
  • Implement KPIs to monitor efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service
  • Effectively manage knowledge within the team (e.g. RTR Cross Training program) and support employee development
  • Ensuring legal requirements respect and service quality
  • Supporting internal and external auditors to ensure the highest quality of operations within the team
  • Drive continuous process improvement in coordination with the RTA GPO
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement initiatives leading to cost-effectiveness and process simplification


QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a matrix organization (ideally BPO/SSC/GBS), with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in leading a team of 3+
  • Extensive knowledge about accounting and RTR Indirect Tax procedures (minimum 3-5 years)
  • A Bachelor´s degree in Accounting or Finance. Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CPA or equivalent) is a plus
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken required
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented and results-driven
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, stakeholder management at all levels
  • Ability to work across cultures with all levels of the organization as well as with different functions
  • MS Office (Excel advanced), SAP (advanced)


Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a SSC
  • Cross-functional experience across RTR an asset
  • Knowledge of Hyperion HFM or similar tools
  • Working knowledge of any of the following languages would be a plus: French, German, Spanish, Italian
