The finance function delivers an effective finance support service to the business to strengthen decision-making by providing timely and accurate reporting and business information. The appropriate financial control framework facilitates improvements in control in the business, promotes the management of financial risk to the organization and meets increasingly onerous statutory and regulatory requirements. The newly established EMEA Shared Service Center will play a key role in having an efficient and effective finance organization.

The EMEA SSC is part of the Wella Group Controlling function and will be the regional Centre of Excellence for accounting, reporting and external financial compliance activities.



We’re looking for a AR team leader to manage the AR team based in our EMEA SSC. You would lead a team of ~15 people being responsible for cash applications related tasks such as process bank statements, execute refunds and write offs, customer clearing, payment plans and factoring.


Moreover, you would supervise the AR team dedicated to our distributor markets and ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.

  • Build team structures and collaborate in the transition process in 2021 (migration of EU countries to newly established Wella EMEA SSC
  • Manage a team of ~15 people with focus on integration of new talents, engagement, communications and monitoring (regular meetings, frequent feedback, coaching and mentoring, recognition)
  • Play a key role in transition process and in continuous improvement and standardization process
  • Own the AR Process Activities and Team work coordination
  • Ensure accurate, reliable and timely processing of Accounts Receivable transactions in line with accounting rules and tax regulations
  • Perform daily tasks and interact with people at all levels within & outside the organization
  • Monitor risks and ensure implementation of mitigating measures
  • Resolve items requiring referral to supervisor or others
  • Collaborate with internal team for supervising and solving raised issues and ensure the right satisfaction level
  • Build strong communication and close working relationship with the key stakeholders at market site, corporate and external key stakeholders
  • Ensure existing policies and procedures are followed
  • Effectively manage knowledge within the team (e.g. AR Cross Training program) and support employee development
  • Ensure legal requirements respect and service quality
  • Support internal and external auditors to ensure highest quality of operations within the team
  • Drive continuous improvement of AR processes and procedures in coordination with the AR GPO and act as champion for strategic initiatives within the organization
  • Implement initiatives leading to cost effectiveness (with particular emphasis on automation and digitalization
  • Ensure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) meet the requirements.

  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in a matrix organization
  • Minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experience 
  • Extensive knowledge about accounting and AR procedures (3-4 years)
  • A Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken required
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Mature attitude towards challenges and problem solving
  • Ability to work across cultures with all levels of organization as well as with different functions
  • MS Office (Excel Advanced), SAP, other AR tools



  • Previous experience in a SSC is welcome
  • Solution-minded; desire to solve problems; autonomous
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, stakeholder management at all levels
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills. Able to organize and plan effectively, drive for results;
  • Working knowledge of any of the following languages would be a plus: French, German, Spanish, Italian
