THE ROLE 

 

The Site HS&E Leader’s role is to provide support and leadership to Senior management to ensure that the company provides a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees and site visitors across 2 UK distribution centers. The Site HS&E Leader will play a key role in the implementation of effective HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, will lead Health & Safety action plans to drive continuous improvement, will drive a proactive accident prevention approach, and will promote a positive H&S culture throughout the business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

•    Site HS&E Programme - Develop and monitor appropriate policies and procedures in order to comply with legal requirements and corporate HS&E KEA programme
•    Site HS&E Action plan - Create a site HS&E Action Plan to drive continuous improvements in safety and environmental systems, and ensure tracking process is in place.
•    Risk assessment - Ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are conducted and that adequate control measures are implemented throughout the business.
•    Audits – Plan and lead internal audits against national legal compliance and corporate HSE requirements.
•    Incident reporting - Ensure that suitable and sufficient incident reporting systems are in place, including communication, reporting, investigation and actions to prevent recurrence.
•    Safety culture - Promote a positive HSE culture through communication and training programmes.
•    Meetings - Attend or lead site or corporate meetings as appropriate to raise awareness and provide feedback in relation to HS&E results, learnings, and improvements.
•    Trend analysis - Collate and report accident statistics on a monthly basis, including lost time incidents and accident trends.
•    HS&E Issues - Help resolve health, safety and environment related problems as they occur.

Key Requirements:

•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience of an HSE role within a Manufacturing / Logistics organisation.
•    NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
•    Comprehensive understanding of UK HSE legislative requirements.
•    Full, Clean driver’s license
